Suspension/damping

The chassis design has been copied straight from the automobile industry, the main emphases being placed on comfort, traction and safety. All four wheels of the ADVENTURE are fully sprung and damped. The long 52 mm travel of the springs at the back and front maximises ride comfort even on uneven surfaces. It\'s on easy terrain and in overcoming obstacles where the undercarriage really comes into its own. The long suspension travel provides traction and stability where other powered wheelchairs give up. An anti-roll bar interconnects the front wheel brackets in order to minimise roll when turning on the spot.

Full-time powerchair users know all about how uneven surfaces such as cobble-stones, kerbs and potholes put a strain on the driver. What\'s called "vibration stress" has been shown to have a negative effect on the whole body.
When it comes to achieving optimum damping and stability, exact adjustment of the chassis to the weight of the driver plays a crucial role. It is the only way to attain effective and therapeutic vibration damping. The ADVENTURE\'s chassis enables all-round, infinitely variable adjustment of the suspension to suit the specific needs and wishes of the individual user as regards comfort.
